1984 Revisited Again

Posted by americana83 on March 17, 2008

This is an article that is part of what may be a series of articles comparing the totalitarian regime from Orwell’s novel 1984 with current trends in society, politics and the world at large. For those not familiar with the novel here is a (very) brief summary:
3 communistic countries are in a state of perpetual war. The novel follows from the POV of a member of the outer party. Political dissidents have been all but eliminated. The state controls everything, and is capable of monitoring even thoughts. “Big brother” is the figurehead of the Party. The party has 3 slogans: “Ignorance is strength,” “Freedom is slavery,” and; “war is peace.” It is from this novel that we get the words “doublespeak, doublethink, and thoughtcrime. An important thing to remember in this novel is that the “hero” does not have any concept of objective morality, and while he knows something is wrong with the society where he lives, he has nothing to base his accusations on. Due to this, some of his conclusions are inaccurate or immoral themselves. Because of this, he is ultimately defeated by his own words and the cunning of the communist state.
Of particular interest is the things that go into making a society where objective truth is impossible to verify and morals shift with whatever the current definition of political correctness is. In 1984 the moral climate has devolved to where whatever is to the benefit of the communist state becomes moral, and anything that inhibits it becomes immoral. According to Big Brother’s government, immoral beliefs consist primarily of: freedom of speech and belief in God.

“Ignorance is strength.”

Self-esteem, socialism, and so called tolerance have replaced “reading, writing and arithmetic.” We no longer accept basic truths, like the definition of marriage, the beginning of life, or the rights granted by the Bill of Rights. The founders of this country knew the Author of liberty, and that is why they could identify right and wrong. (For more about the amazing history of America’s Founding Fathers and our early leaders, please check out this book)
Besides this, man has been torn from his previous position as a special creation*, in the image of God. Theoretical discussions of human origins overshadow nearly all science. Further, by the constant pushing of the ‘fact’ that humans are just animals, provides for the opportunity for them to be treated like animals. The Darwinian-based concepts of “Survival of the fittest” and the “Preservation of favored races[from the subtitle in the original prints of Darwin's Origin of Species]” provided the groundwork for Hitler’s attempted genocide and the Soviet Union’s genocide. When man tricks himself into thinking that men are just animals, it gives him the ability to do whatever he wants to his fellow man in the name of guiding “evolution.” Such concepts also lead to the enactment of forced sterilization laws in some states, though at present these are unenforced or removed from the books.Fortunately, most of the racial nonsense that was fueled by evolutionary thinking has been soundly refuted by genetic research. However, instead of groups of people being thought subhuman animals, all humans have been lowered to the rank of animal.

*”We hold this truth to be self evident, that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights…” [the Declaration of Independence]

“Freedom is Slavery”

The concept of humans as animals ties right in with this slogan. In the book, it is shown to mean that all freedoms are bad, and thus a lack of freedom is best for all. However, in some cases, the freedom to do something may actually help to reduce the freedoms of all.

 ”Freedom” to die

For example, the viewing of humans as animals reduces the moral qualms which may come from ending the life of an innocent person whether a full grown mentally impaired person like Terri Schiavo, or a person yet to be brought into this world (commonly referred to as “abortion). In this case, the granting of additional “freedoms” by the state could eventually pave the way for the state to use these “freedoms” against innocent Americans. Most Americans do not realize the dangerous president set when it is ruled legal to take innocent life for no other reason than convenience. Incidently, both Abortion and Euthanasia would fit in with at least one radical group’s “New World Order” dreams.

 ”Freedom” to use (illegal) drugs

There is a segment of the population both in America and abroad that want the freedom to use drugs without fear of prosecution. There are at least two reasons why a totalitarian government would benefit from allowing (and controlling) limited recreational drug use:

1: Additional profits

A government which was either the sole provider of, or licensor of providers would gain a large additional revenue. Even if the government provided it for “free,” it could still reap large dividends.

2: Control

A people addicted to some kind of drug would be willing to do anything to maintain their fix. In their desire to work for and obtain their drugs, they would be readily willing to cede freedoms to the government, and would be far less likely to revolt against the “Big Brother”who gives them everything they want.

“Freedom” from God (or state-sponsored Atheism)

There has been much talk and progress of purging Christian elements from the public square and the legal code. A great wall is being built to separate God from the American Government. It was started in the 20th Century and work continues today. What is wrong with “separation of church and state?” It is from God that things called moral absolutes come from. A government that has been freed from God gains the moral ability to do whatever to whomever without fear or guilt. This is why the official religion of Soviet Russia and the “People’s Democratic Republic” of China is Atheism. America never had a state sponsored church, but always maintained a generic Christian foundation. However, beginning in the mid 1900s, this foundation began to be blasted. Today, only traces of this foundation remain. However, America, though separating from its Christian heritage is far from churchless. Atheism is effectively preached in the public schools, whereby children are indoctrinated to accept that humans are animals and life is an accident. This opens them to accept the moral standards of a secular society, namely, anything goes sexually, drug use is ok, socialism (or outright Communism in California, see SB 1322) is good, and people who believe in God or moral absolutes are bad.

The only other religious expression encouraged in the academic world is Islam. While this might seem contradictory, Islam’s tenants do allow for a considerable degree of moral relativism (especially in regards to martyrdom and revolution). It allow allows the foundation for a totalitarian government along the lines of Iran. No country set up on Atheistic or Qu’ranic principles will ever be a free and democratic society. It was the Christian foundation in America that gave rise to a government tolerant of freedom, and forced it to operate in a limited fashion. It is for that reason that America flourished. It was this moral foundation that worked so long and hard to end the sins America committed against her own people (slavery and segregation).

 ”Freedom” from offense

This would grant that almost everyone has the right to never be offended. This is already clearly evident in Canada, and even in the US, where the Canadian Human Rights Commission not only makes sure that “sexual minorities” are not offended, but that private Christian business are forced to work for them or be sued out of existence.

Now, as we plunge into a brave new world, the moral causes of the past are hijacked to further the causes of the moral relativists, namely the destruction of: Family, marriage, the unborn, and America. Presidential wannabes Barack and Hillary face off against a not so distant opponent. Barack and Hillary would rapidly accelerate the collapse of the American legacy,  bringing us ever closer to Big Brother/Sister.

Obama’s Pastor Hates America

Posted by americana83 on March 13, 2008

Barack Obama continues to “denounce” things his pastor said, and doesn’t consider him political. Maybe he should have told that to Dr. Wright. Wright claims the US ‘s attack on Japan in WWII was terrorist, and that we brought 9/11 on ourselves.

Would you continue to go to a church that constantly said and supported things you opposed? Would you trust such a place to nourish your soul? Train up your children? Baptise them and marry you? Obama did all these things.

Could you imagine if John McCain or Mike Huckabee went to an Aryan Nations church? Could you imagine them saying that they “denounced” “some things” the pastor said, but that he was a personal friend?

Barack Obama’s pastor hates America, regrets that she won WWII, and continues to hate her. This Rev. Wright has fed and directed Obama and his family spiritually for years. If a little leaven leavens a whole lump, and birds of a feather flock together, how far removed from his pastor’s hell-inspired racism and noxious anti-Americanism can Barack be?

Do we want a person leading this nation who may very well hate it? (Hence the constant hammering of the “change” theme?)

Content of our Character: Why America has not come as far as we think

Posted by americana83 on February 23, 2008

As we near the end of Black History Month, let us consider the famous words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

That is the dream, whereby man would look beyond the surface and judge men by their values, beliefs and standards. Much progress has been made in that direction in America.

We have gone from a time where the legal system looked another way when a black man whistled at a white woman. Racism has been evicted from America’s public square. By and large it only finds refuge in the hearts of men (and women) who’s hearts are hardened, who’s minds are narrow, who’s only claim to self worth is the putting down of another based on the color of their skin.

Today, however, skin color has again returned to America’s public square. As we race towards the 2008 presidential elections, change has become the buzz word. In many circles the prospect of a Black or woman president has trumped all other issues.

McCain, Bush, the Clintons are painted as stogy old white establishment types. Relative youth and skin color are trumpeted as the best assets of a candidate this year, in 2008.
The truth of the matter is this: once you peel off the surface, there is no substantial difference in the agendas that will be pursued by a President Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

There is a song that has been co-opted in some areas as a sort of theme song for this years election season: Matchbox 20′s “How far we’ve come.” The music video to this song seems to attempt a historical chronology of the women’s and civil rights movements, cumulating in cheering images of Barack Obama’s and Hillary’s supporters.

There is no doubt that the Civil Rights Movement and certain aspects of the women’s movement have legitimately leveled the social and economic playing fields. However, the problem comes when the cumulation of these efforts is presented as Hillary and Obama. The Euphoria over the potential of a “first” black/woman candidate has completely hijacked democrats and would be social progressives. Any attack that would be directed at Obama’s policies or values can, and sometimes is, twisted into racism. Gender and skin tone becomes a defense in liu of answers.

Barack Obama himself says he is gaging racism by whether or not whites vote for him.

“If I do well in Iowa, and if I do well in New Hampshire . . . then by the time we get to South Carolina, I think we will have dispelled the notion that somehow whites won’t vote for African Americans.” -SOURCE

This is audacious in every sense of the word. Ignoring the issues and diving straight for the cover all. I would vote for the President regardless of his or her color, that stands closest to what is best for America.

Barack Obama’s massive spending/taxing plans, advocacy for homosexuality, blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants, abortion views to the left of NARAL and NOW, coolness towards Israel, and his flippant attitude towards drugs will send this nation on a crash course with economic recession and moral decline. Ultimately the other 2 candidates, Hillary and McCain, are watered down versions of Obama’s radicalism (though in Hillary‘s case only very slightly so).

It will send the message: Skin matters more than issues.

It sure seemed like we’ve come along way since Dr King’s famous speech. However, here we are as a nation still judging people by the color of their skin.

It will only be a matter of time before we are all judged for our actions this year. This election has the potential to change the heart and soul of a nation.

If you LOVE America, if you sincerely want the best for this country look behind the smooth talking, the glitzy publicity war, the buzz words and rock concert style slogans and chantings.

Look at the issues. Pray. We’re not voting for the next American Idol here. Image and stage presence are not going to save us all.

King was murdered for his bold position, that all men are equal. If you love civil rights, if you support on any level the legacy he has handed us down through the civil rights movement, then reject the politics of “famous firsts.” Focus on the issues. Focus on America.

Let’s live the dream.

Allah = Jehovah?

Posted by americana83 on October 8, 2007

President Bush recently said that we all pray to the same God, with special emphasis on Islam and Christianity. Has he never read the Bible? Has he never read the Koran. I can prove that Allah and Jehovah are diametrically opposed to one another, with one verse from the Bible and part of a sura from the Qur’an.

Bible:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(John 1:1)

The Qur’an

They surely are Infidels who say, “God is the third of three:” for there
is no God but one God: and if they refrain not from what they say, a grievous
chastisement shall light on such of them as are Infidels.

Will they not, therefore, be turned unto God, and ask pardon of Him?
since God is Forgiving, Merciful!

The Messiah, Son of Mary, is but an Apostle; other Apostles have
flourished before him; and his mother was a just person: they both ate food.
Behold! how we make clear to them the signs! then behold how they turn aside!

-From Sura 5, The Table

In addition, in these verses of the Bible, we see the 3 facets of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit:

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(Matthew 3:16-17)

President Bush, in his incessant desire to appease Islamic Jihadists is attempting to paganize God and forsake the faith that this country was built on.

George Bush has taken part in Ramadan Iftar dinners for several years now.

As we draw closer to the 2008 elections, the more disappointment I see in President Bush(Pleading to legalize illegal immigration, cow-towing to the World Court, NAFTA, FTAA, and continuing to perpetuate the ignorant LIE that Jehovah = Allah). However, I can say with confidence that given previous candidates Gore, and Kerry, there was no better option.

Pray for America

More thoughts on Immigration

Posted by americana83 on June 7, 2006

[I originally posted this in one of the yahoo groups i belong to]

In some ways, America was a melting pot. We had one
thing which allowed this country to debate, compromise
and run effectively: a common language. Everyone,
while still possessing their own unique cultural
identity, called themselves Americans, and was able
to(or worked towards communicating in the language of
our land: English. If a common language is not
available, how then can debate and compromise occur? A
democratic republic cannot function properly where
citizens cannot communicate with each other. lingual
isolation also fosters xenophobia, fear of others who
are different.

America is a land of immigrants. Whoever wants to can
come in through the “front door” and be welcomed. To
say that president bush wants to remove the Latinos
and muslims from this country is unfounded. Bush has
repeatedly championed a guest worker program for
illegal immigrants, and has denounced repeatedly the
House immigration bill which would make illegal
immigration a felony offense.

Personally, I believe that whoever wants to come in
legally should be given the opportunity to do so.
However, America cannot support an unfettered open
border policy. Immigration must be regulated/moderated
to ensure our nation remains healthy.

those who willfully and knowingly break Federal Law
should not be put into the fast track for Citizenship.
It could be roughly compared to the illegal customer
(re: bandit) who has robbed banks successfully for 20
years. He is finally caught, and since he has been
successful for 20 years and was using it to provide
for his family, he is given a full pardon and allowed
to keep the money he has stolen. This is detrimental
not only to those who had their money stolen, but
ultimately undermines the purpose of a bank: to
provide security and services for its legal customers.

We do a great disservice to the many LEGAL immigrants
who worked hard and entered America as genuine
citizens, who have pledged support for America.

Another thought:

briefly, during the events immediately after 9/11,
this country came together. We ceased being dems and
repubs, blacks and whites, Jews and Christians…

We stood together as un-hyphenated Americans and
declared: “United We Stand!” and God Bless America!
America went back to church and for awhile we stood
together.

If we can come together and stand united as Americans,
we can ease the fragmenting of American society and
build a safe and prosperous country for our future generations.
