If you haven’t seen, the NYT released a “Future News Website” perporting to be from July 4th, 2009.
Yes, it is a satire piece, but they adamantly hope to print this one day, on the downloadable version, the side slogan says “all the news we hope to print”
They absolutely fawn over the “Workers Paradise” they hope to create under the incoming Obama/Biden regime.
Among the more audacious articles I have read there:
The olympics end because competitions between “archaic national borders” are pointless. Guest commentary by the North Korean dictator hails their end.
“Maximum wage”
“Ban on all lobbying”
“Ban on biofuels”
“Complete nationalizing of oil companies – and giving their profits to the United Nations!
“Complete ban on all weapons, from handguns to nukes” (Hamas approved???)
“Bush indicted on war crimes, made to look like a complete moron”
“the grassroots people having to harass Nancy Pelosi to push for passage of these anti-freedom laws, things that she would do freely herself”
“Banning superstores like walmart from “low income neighborhoods” and the government forcing them to spend their money to create new local competitors, and then to eliminate all chain stores with more than 10 stores from “low income” areas. Forcing locals have to pay more since these small stores will never attain economies of scale to sell goods at low cost, thus hurting the low income areas*
“Public universities to be ‘free’” Anyone who knows anything about economics knows the tax payer will foot the bill!
“Eliminating the Army’s entire recruiting budget”
“Calls the creation of modern Israel “the Palestinian diaspora in 1948.” One can’t hellp but sense an anti-Israeli slant to that…
To anyone who still thinks the New York Times is a prestigious or truly American newspaper, is only deceiving themselves. This newspaper is anti-American and clearly supports measures designed to curtail freedom and American prosperity.
Supporting the New York Times = Opposing America and all she stands for
*This goes right in with their praising on their website of America electing a “community organizer.” By further impoverishing these low income neighborhoods, it provides ever greater fuel to set the poor against the rich, and provides more opportunity to redistribute more wealth and further destroy what is left of the free market economy opportunity for success.
